The 8500 series, based on the 8000 series, was manufactured from 1975 for direct operation on the Toden Arakawa Line, the New York Line, and the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line. From 2003, it also operated on the Tobu Isesaki Line (now the Tobu Skytree Line) via the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line. It was used on the Oedo Line with shortened formations. The 8000 series debuted in 1969 and operated mainly on the Tokyu Line and the Oedo Line until its retirement in 2008. You can choose between the 8500 and 8000 series, both featuring front red stripes, no side stripes, and air-conditioned cars.
