These 6-9 watt Red Light Therapy hand-held LED lights contains the optimal wavelength for maximum absorption and penetration into the skin, muscle, and brain: Red 620 nm, Deep-Red 660 nm, Near-Infrared (NIR) 770 nm and Infrared (IR) 820 nm LEDs. The combination of these wavelengths provides cells with each of the uniquely absorbable wavelengths. The visible Red and Deep-Red spectrum (620 & 660 nm) provide benefits for tissue closer to the surface. The NIR and IR (770 & 820 nm) provide benefits for deeper tissues and can penetrate the bone to benefit the brain. This product includes 2-3 3W LEDs that provide 50-100% more power density compared to other popular products, providing 200 mW/cm^2 at 3 inches and 100 mW/cm^2 at 5.5 inches. Products that combine two wavelengths with the same effect (e.g. 850 and 660) are not as beneficial with long term use, as the cells can become insensitive to the light therapy if a balanced set of wavelengths are not included, i.e. both reducing and oxidizing, being 620/760 & 660/830 nm are preferred.
